  • What's eSIM?

    The word "e-SIM" refers to “embedded SIM”, With eSIM, there will be no more physical swapping when visiting another country or region, global network access, automatic connectivity at network cutoffs and cloud-managed device connectivity monitoring & analysis.

    And with eSIM feature for smartphones, users get to download App like 「RedteaGO」 or scan QR code to enjoy global network without a SIM card, with local rate and local speed, directly from the dual SIM phone.

  • Is my iPhone compatible with eSIM?

    Only eSIM-friendly iPhones support users to use RedteaGO eSIM service to intelligently shift among mobile networks and get fast data at home and around the world:
    1. including an iPhone (11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, Xs, Xs Max, Xr) with an update to iOS 12.1 or later.
    2. eSIM on iPhone is not offered in mainland China yet. In Hong Kong and Macau, only iPhone XS supports eSIM feature.
    3. RedteaGO eSIM is not available on locked iPhones. (When you buy a device with a contract from a mobile operator, it is common practice for them to lock the connectivity from any other supplier. In this case your device will be considered 'locked'—at least until your contract expires. You can check with your operator to see if there is anything you can do to unlock the eSIM in your device.)

  • In What situation would I really need an eSIM

    Here are a few of the many ways you can use eSIM as Dual SIM when you have the need:
    - To use one number for business and another number for personal calls.
    - To add a local data plan when you travel outside of the country or region.
    - To have a separate voice and data plans.

  • How many eSIMs can I have simultaneously?

    eSIM compatible devices allows you to install multiple eSIMs. The maximum amount of eSIMs you can have simultaneously differs from the device and manufacturer.

    But only 1 eSIM can stay active at one time, it only takes a few seconds to switch between them. This can be managed on your iPhone Cellular Settings.
    So you can purchase multiple eSIM plans on your phone, but only one eSIM plan is in use.

  • What is the RedteaGO eSIM data plan network speed like?

    Normally, it’s the speed of local 4G/LTE service, which is available in most countries or regions (RedteaGO eSIM service covers 100+ countries or regions, except for some remote areas with sparse network coverage or under extreme environmental conditions.

  • How to subscribe to RedteaGO eSIM ?

    Follow the steps as below, RedteaGO eSIM makes your iPhone the truly global device:
    1. Open the App.
    2. Select data plan.
    3. Tap “ buy” to finish payment and get the plan activated (before using).
    4. Follow the guide to configure the eSIM.(network connection is needed).
    5. Make sure "Cellular Data" switches to eSIM, now you can enjoy the global local network.

  • How do I set up my eSIM?

    When you "Activate" an eSIM data plan, the App will connect service and download a eSIM profile into your iPhone, so at activation, you should configure the eSIM like a physical SIM card, We recommend to set eSIM label as "RedteaGO" , for convenient reorder.

  • Should I switch on Data Roaming when using eSIM?

    No need, It can work automatically.

  • How to check data usage of RedteaGO eSIM?

    You can view your data usage in the RedteaGO Order for some data plans (if carrier supports).
    If you fail, go to iPhone Settings and tap “Cellular” to check RedteaGO eSIM’s usage.

    Your device will specify the SIM using data (the Primary SIM or the eSIM).
    With multiple eSIMs installed, your device will also specify which eSIM is being used - check the nickname you set for eSIM at installation.

  • Can I make phone calls or send SMS with RedteaGO eSIM service?

    RedteaGO eSIM is for data service only. It does not come with a mobile phone number to make phone calls or send SMS. However, you can use VoIP apps such as WhatsApp or Skype to make voice calls and text.

  • Is hotspot sharing available after the eSIM enabled?

    Yes, Hotspot sharing is supported in all countries or regions.

  • The valid period of RedteaGO eSIM?

    The RedteaGO eSIM will be valid for the days you selected for the order, and it’s calculated upon activation completed.

    Friendly reminder: We suggest removing the RedteaGO eSIM after use, just in case your nano-card cannot function correctly. Please go to [Settings] - [Cellular] - Choose the eSIM/cellular plan you added - Remove [Cellular Plan].

  • How long can I keep my data plan unactivated?

    An unused data plan expires 30 days after the purchase date. You can ask for a refund and install it within 30 days.

  • Do I need a WiFi connection to buy a new data plan after finishing the previous plan?

    Yes indeed. When the data plan ends, your eSIM will be offline so you will need an internet connection for reorder.

Assistance of using eSIM data plan

  • What should I do if I cannot connect RedteaGO eSIM?

    Are you in an area with network coverage?
    In an area with limited mobile coverage, or no coverage at all, you will find it difficult to access the internet. Try switching locations until you get enough signal bars to connect to 3G or 4G/LTE.
    If you are in good coverage and tried everything else, always try a restart and see if that helps.

  • What if I erased my eSIM plan by accident, what can I do?

    We feel sorry to hear that, and suggest not to delete the eSIM until the data plan is finished. If you delete a valid eSIM order, the data plan can't be used any more.

  • I’m planning to change my device. Can I transfer my eSIM to the new device?

    Unfortunately, it is not possible with the current eSIM architecture. We suggest you get a new eSIM.
